No. The answer is no. And yes; there's a long history of parades during your city's past decades, from the early 30s through late 70s, when the city got its first municipal parade (now known as "Echo Town") at the White Lake Parades in 1970. But at the time, the parade (with the first parade actually running from May 1 to May 25) was known as La Maison d'Alene, or La Maison D'Urge.
The parade took place at a public park in Equestrian Park, around the location of the Equestrian Place in Long Beach. You could see people playing and singing in the park and there were lights at night so you could see how the city went: The parade had a yellow line that led to a bridge (with a light on the end of the bridge) that made your walk into the parade. In many ways it was a grand idea: Equestrian parks was part of Long Beach's history (long before the city first called the parade an "urban park"), but its success began when citizens of other parts of Long Beach tried to get the parade to extend its reach to Long Beach — and eventually to the suburbs too.
In fact, the parade was actually a concept conceived by both local and federal leaders. The county of Long Beach got a grant from Governor Deval Patrick to
