Bridging up its list of festivals, the festival circuit has announced it will hold the first of several special year-long events to honour the 100th anniversary of its founding in 2002.

The festival, featuring an open-air carnival, fireworks displays, a live music demonstration, fireworks displays, a firework display, musical demonstrations and live performances from a variety of bands, will kick-off on July 20, with the festivities to begin on 8 June at the Bélo's Béluze Gardens.

Also, the Béluze Gardens is hosting the official fireworks parade on its first day, which will be live from at least 10:45am to midnight.

The Béluze Gardens has long been one of the most culturally significant arts centres in Québec, with more than 10,000 people visiting and nearly 900,000 attending its functions, from the traditional dancers to the children to the music.

After launching its inaugural festival in 2002, the Béluze Gardens attracted over 1.25 million visitors. It has been attracting even more since then, with visitors attracted to the festivities of Béluze Ballas, which open on Sunday, and the Béluze Festival on Friday, where visitors will enjoy a chance to spend a week exploring the world of traditional dancers, the festival and fireworks displays.
