Polaris was not the only brand making new and innovative products during the company's first couple of fiscal years. It had an expansion plan for the second half of the year to deal with a number of issues including the continued need to deal with an overfishing problem.
The first wave of Polaris products were made available to customers around the year 2001. The previous generation was launched in January 2004, followed by a second wave of Polaris units in May 2006.
In the same year, Polaris produced a limited number of new watches with brand new mechanical movements.
Polaris produced its first wrist watch in January 2010. The watch is now available as Polaris Watch 9 and Polaris Watch 9A.

It launched several new models from November 2011 to June 2013.
The watch was accompanied by a new leather strap.

Polaris later said that the Polaris 9A was its first new watch.
Polaris previously made several new watches for the Polaris 10 series, including the Polaris 11 series, but only two Polaris 11s are expected to sell commercially.
These watches were first announced at the USGS in February this year.
