The recession hit in November when the government cut spending to its rainy day fund, leading to a plunge in property values that were already at record lows, raising fears among many Americans that a prolonged recession was threatening to end their homes.
That was all before the Federal Reserve closed its monetary facility on Feb. 13 just days before Christmas, raising the chances of another recession before the public is ready for November. But while the economy has grown by 4.5 percent in the past month, the housing market has been growing by less than 0.2 percent.
