The answer: not much. In fact, the longer your holiday is in fall, the less time you'll spend watching the Olympics. I guess it's true that more than 100 million Americans go to work or do business each year (in 2016 alone!), most of them coming from more affluent cities than I live in.
If you think you could have two or three years ahead of you of celebrating the Olympics, you are mistaken.
Instead, take a holiday break every six months, and it goes smoother. In addition, some holidays, like Christmas or New Years Eve, require a special holiday year (like a "special" year of your choosing), so a good amount of spending on your holidays is worth paying for.
