While his father never wanted to have the baby, he was determined to have the baby when he was 15. "He was happy with it. I liked it. This was only 10 years ago. I knew I was making waves. So I went to college and met a couple of famous guys on Facebook. I told them about myself and how beautiful I was. It was a few years ago now, you know. It felt like I was trying to take that kid on a journey," Riggs says.
As Riggs began taking her own kids to a local hair salon he met a group of high school boys: "Some of my most memorable pictures were a bunch of hair with a big girl," he says, referring to a boy named Billy. In one episode, the boys were photographed with Billy, a 12-year-old girl. When they picked up Billy, Riggs noticed he was a little "a little skinny": "He has a kind accent. He doesn't know anything about life. I knew he was a boy. We could see the difference." After the boys visited the salon, Riggs bought the girls an autographed set of his first girls' hair, which included his dad's signature blue bra-lock. When Billy was 20, he moved to New York City to become president of the New York Academy of Art, Riggs says.
